ACS EDI Gateway has identified fields commonly containing errors that cause file rejections for X12 and Proprietary Formats.  To ensure efficient, accurate electronic transaction processing, please review the appropriate link for your format.  If you have questions about the formats, please contact the EDI Business Analyst Group at (850) 201-1171.

Most Common ACS Professional Proprietary Format File Rejections

Please keep in mind the following standard entries when populating Proprietary Format fields:

• If a numeric field is not populated, it should be defaulted to zeroes.
• If an alphanumeric field is not populated, it should default to spaces.

Most Common X12 Format File Rejections

The ISA and GS Segments are first in the transaction format.  Ensure that these fields are carefully coded to reflect the requirements of the X12N transaction formats.

Example of Correct Transaction Format

• Trading Partner ID missing or invalid in the ISA06 segment.
• "100000" missing in the ISA08 segment

The ISA and GS envelope segments should contain the delimeters the submitter indicated during their enrollment.  In the following examples these symbols are used:

is used for segment terminators
