The Companion Guides are to be used in conjunction with HIPAA Implementation Guides and include Washington State Medicaid
specific business rules, edits and data clarification. The Companion Guides will be available here to enable software vendors and others to modify their products for submission to EDI Gateway.
The Companion Guides will be updated routinely, with new data highlighted and noted in the document version control table at the front of each guide. Updates will be posted every Monday and Thursday to the
guides. Submitters are encouraged to check this website frequently for updated information. ANSI ASC X12N Washington State Companion Guides Companion Guides are intended for trading partner use in conjunction with the ANSI ASC X12N National Implementation Guide. The ANSI ASC X12N Implementation Guides can be

for engaging in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) with ACS EDI Gateway, Inc. and specifies data clarification where applicable.
