Q: What are the hardware and
software requirements for submitting ASAP-AP?
A: The requirements are:
- DOS 5.0 or higher
- IBM compatible PC (486 or higher processor CPU)
- One floppy (3.5") drive and one hard disk
- 8 Meg RAM
- Color or monochrome monitor
- Hayes compatible 2400, 9600, 14400, 28800, or 33600 baud asynchronous modem connected to COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4
- 80 column printer for printing reports (highly recommended)

6:00 p.m. at (800) 827-5328. If you need hands-on assistance, the Support Unit can arrange to have a field representative visit your location.
Q: Can I submit claims in a format other than ASAP-AP?
A: Yes. You or your billing agent, clearinghouse, or software vendor may program to any format located on the West Virginia
Workers' Compensation "Specs" page of this website. Once you program to the specifications, contact the ACS EDI Support Unit to arrange testing.
Q: As an "approved" software
vendor, will my clients/providers need to submit a test submission?
A: No. As long as your software has been tested and approved by ACS, each of your clients/providers may be placed into
production status after completing the necessary enrollment package and contacting the ACS EDI Support Unit.
Q: I am a new billing agent. Will my clients/providers need to submit
a test submission?
A: No. Only the billing agent is required to submit a test submission.
